Yep, that’s me. A couple of years ago, I put my tree up before Halloween. A man walked by our house and saw me decorating and laughed and laughed. Awesome.
Why am I a crazy Christmas person? Well, I don’t have any happy Christmas memories from childhood. It’s true. I grew up in a broken family and I emotionally associate a lot of angst with the holiday. After I had children of my own, of course I wanted joy for them. And I realized Christmas is what you make of it. So, I started making the most of it.
One thing that really helped was my favorite Christmas movie. It literally changed my mind-set and turned the lightbulb on. Of course, being a book nerd, I know all about Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Maybe it’s my brand of sense of humor, but the Muppet version is the one which hit home for me. Go figure.
So, this is why you will see Christmas themed books on all my social media, especially Twitter. I also have Jewish friends and African American friends, so of course you’re going to see stuff about their cherished holidays from me this time of year too.

Here is a YouTube video of my favorite song from the movie, ‘Thankful Heart.’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpb9EbmvM5M
This wonderful children’s book is about a Christian minister and his family who found a tapestry which ended up reuniting a Jewish couple who’d lost contact with each other due to war.
